Yi-Huan Zhao

Yi Huan ZhaoArtistic Coordinator

A graduate from the University of Southern California, violinist Yi-Huan Zhao studied under Prof. Alice Schoenfeld and at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under Prof. Dan-Ching Zhao.

He has participated in numerous international music festivals, including the Schleswig-Holstein International Music Festival in Germany where he performed under the batons of Sir Georg Solti, Valery Gergiev and Mstislav Rostropovich.

Mr. Zhao has been concertmaster of St. Matthew’s Chamber Orchestra since 1999 and currently serves as the concertmaster of the Santa Cecilia Orchestra.

He is also a member of the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra and was recently appointed its’ artistic coordinator.

Additional collaborations include performances with the American Youth Symphony, Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra, University of Southern California Symphony, Los Angeles Symphony Chamber Orchestra, Ventura County Symphony, Ventura Chamber Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony, West Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra, and other noted ensembles.

An enthusiastic chamber musician, Mr. Zhao has been a member of the Rococo String Quartet and has appeared in the Salastina Music Society’s chamber music series.
